Puneet in 'Porali' remake?

Going by the buzz in Sandalwood, Puneet Rajkumar will be playing the lead in the remake of Tamil film Porali. The film will be produced under his home banner, sources add. If things do fall into place, then Puneet will be playing a man with a mysterious past.

Samuthirakani, the director of the original film, is expected to direct Puneet in the Kannada version. It may be recalled that earlier he was to direct the actor in Hudugaru, which was a remake of his other film Nadodigal, but things had failed to materialise.

Guruprasad, who had penned the dialogues for Hudugaru, is expected to be roped in this time as well. “Puneet is busy with the shooting of Anna Bond. A final decision regarding Porali will be taken after Anna Bond’s April release,” says a source.

Anna Bond brings together director Suri and Puneet for the second time. Their combination has set the expectations sky high. “On the outset it may look like an action film, but it comes with a beautiful story line. Puneet and my other team members have this time decided to stay off publicity and let their work speak. So, instead of giving interviews regarding the film, we are releasing stills and song bits. We want just our audience to do the talking after watching the film,” says producer Raghavendra Rajkumar.

If Porali materialises, it will come as an addition to Puneet’s ambitious list of projects that include Anna Bond and Kannadada Kotyadipathi, the TV show based on KBC.
