Priyanka Chopra? I’ll sign her right away: Karan Johar

Filmmaker Karan Johar, may have turned 40, and is all geared up to don the hat of a dance show’s judge too. But besides being in the limelight for this new task, Karan has been more in the public eye for the alleged cold war between him and actress Priyanka Chopra.

But ask Karan about the same and he insists, that she still is a very good friend.

“I have always had a great professional, as well as personal rapport with Priyanka. In fact, that is the precise reason I invited her on my birthday and I appreciate her coming. I’m not denying that there weren’t mild issues between us, but as mature adults we’ve sorted it and are on the same page now,” explains Karan.

He further adds, “I also want to mention that my party more than being my 40th birthday, it was actually more to do with me completing 15 years in the industry. And I feel whatever I am today it’s all because of relationships, and I cannot for anything sacrifice them. Also as far as PC is concerned, tomorrow if I get a script that is best suited for her talent I will sign her right away. We have worked earlier and so will we in future.”

Ask him if he has any dance-based film is on his mind, now that he is a judge on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa? “I’m a Punjabi munda and dance is in my DNA. Also over last fifteen years I’ve understood one thing about dance that it isn’t just about getting the right moves, but also the passion and energy one needs to make it a power-packed performance. And since I share that passion for it, I feel I can do a good job. Also the other reason is Madhuri (Dixit) I’ve been a fan of hers and though we haven’t worked on a film, even getting to co-judge with her is a fabulous experience. Besides I will love to work with her on a film, may be a dance based one, if I get a good script,” he says.

Now that all is well, do we see KJo cast the two Khans — Shah Rukh and Salman together in a film? Karan replies, “Salman was in my first film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He is simply a phenomenon. And tell me one person who doesn’t want to work with him. His popularity is humungous and if I have a fabulous script matching his charisma and also his dates I will most definitely work with him.”
