Pitt-Jolie give USD 1 million as aid to Pakistani refugees

Hollywood star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has extended a helping hand to the displaced people in Pakistan by donating USD 1 million.

Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency for eight-years, has always been vocal about the cause while Pitt has been active in the humanitarian work.

The Jolie-Pitt Foundation gave the money to help displaced people in Pakistan yesterday. Jolie has visited the country three times.

The head of the agency, Antonio Guterres, thanked the foundation for its assistance, calling Pakistan's plight "the most challenging humanitarian crisis of the past decade," as more than 2 million people are currently displaced in the country, People magazine reported.

Jolie, who recently shot a video urging people to recognise the plight of the refugee populace around the world, will mark the World Refugee Day in Washington DC today with US secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
