Permission for Salman Khan to act in Rajinikanth biopic not granted

Actor Salman Khan is riding high on the success of his latest release Bodyguard, and if rumours are to be believed the actor is gearing up to do another heavy weight film.

Rumour doing the rounds is that Salman will now be seen in a biopic to be made on superstar Rajinikanth’s life. The producers, Salman’s sister and brother-in-law —Atul Agnihotri and Alvira Khan, are apparently very keen on making a biopic on Rajinikanth. But their plan might not see the day of light, until Rajini’s family gives a nod to the project.

While it was reported earlier that Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya denied being approached by the producers,  she had said that she would think about it if only Atul would meet her personally.  A source close to the actor says “Though Salman has been denying all these reports, the buzz doing the rounds is that Atul is really interested in making a biopic on the superstar's life.  The biopic will trace the superstar’s stardom and his entire life will be up there on the screen.”

While the superstar makes no bones about admitting that his was a rag to riches story, his family is apparently not too keen on portraying Rajini’s life story, from the time he was a bus conductor till his present super stardom status.

Salman too denied doing any film like that at a recent press conference in Dublin, London. He feigned ignorance about the entire project when he was asked about it and said that though he was a huge fan of the Tamil actor, he is not involved in any biopic on Rajini’s life. Whether Salman is really not doing the film or is refuting all stories about it because Rajni’s family has not given permission, is something we will have to wait and watch.
