Parvathy’s shopping spree irks film crew

Former beauty queen Parvathy Omanakuttan ran into major trouble with the producers of her debut movie United Six as she went missing for nearly six hours leaving the cast and crew stranded in Bangkok. This hampered the schedule and the makers ran into production losses.

CG Patel, the film’s producer, says, “We were shooting a few crucial scenes in Bangkok. We had a gap of a couple of hours in between shoots. Initially, Parvathy was chilling on the sets. However, we didn’t realise when she stepped out without informing anyone. Only when we resumed shooting, we found out that she wasn’t there on the sets. We panicked because we didn’t know where she was or if she knew the city well .”

He adds, “She was also not carrying a phone and so we couldn’t contact her. We sent out search parties in and around our set to look for her but everyone came back with no news. It had already begun to get dark and so we were duly worried. She came back at 12 in the night and when we confronted her she told us that she had called her friends and gone out shopping. Our shooting for that day was damaged and we incurred losses too.

We could not believe that she actually said she skipped shooting for shopping. We were furious but Parvathy explained to us that she thought that they were done for the day. She apologised for her conduct. We have decided to give her a chance and not do anything drastic like throwing her out of the movie.”

Pavathy told us from Bangkok, “I’m new to this industry and the fault was mine that I did not tell the production guys that I was leaving. I had gone out with my friends to shop and have fun. I didn’t realise that it would create such a huge panic and problems for my film-makers. It has been a learning experience for me.”
