'Paramaathma' proves to be be Yogaraj Bhat's biggest hit

This couldn’t be better news for Yogaraj Bhat and his team. His latest flick, Paramaathma (his first with Puneeth Rajkumar), has proved to be his biggest ever. “Going by the way the film has been received, we’re definitely going to surpass Mungaaru Male and most of its earnings in the opening weekend itself,” says Yogaraj, who’s thrilled to bits.

The film, which released on Vijayadashami Day, saw its first shows in some centres as early as 6am. “By the time the opening show was done in most halls in Bangalore, some of the cities like Davanagere had as many as four shows finishing back to back as they began early at dawn,” says Yogaraj.

And the crowds have been  making a dash for all the halls in the states to catch this combination of Sandalwood’s most sought after director with the industry’s most successful hero. A fan at Santosh theatre in Bangalore (the main cinema hall) tells us, “The tickets for all four shows were sold out early in the morning itself. The tickets, which were being sold in black, were going for `1000 and more.”

Yogaraj too confirms that fans across all cities were trying their best to catch the film on the first day, which led to the tickets being sold in black. “I got to know that some people in Mysore were even selling the tickets for `2000,” says Yogaraj, who expects the frenzy to only go up.
