Pampered? I was even the spot boy on the sets of 'Mausam': Shahid Kapur

Ever since actor Shahid Kapur and actress Sonam Kapoor started shooting together for actor-turned-director and Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur’s Mausam, there’s been a strong buzz of the two not getting along too well.

In fact, according to reports, it was only after the intervention of their dads, Pankaj and Anil Kapoor that the young stars apparently called it a truce. The two, incidentally, have always denied sharing any cold vibes at all, though they do admit that they weren’t best buddies to start with.

But in their words, ‘all’s well now’, and to prove it, Sonam also took time out to attend Shahid’s birthday party held on Friday night in the city. The pretty actor had earlier even called Shahid to wish him luck on the eve of his F16 flight.

Talking about his off screen rapport with his co-star, Shahid says, “It’s true that Sonam and I did not exactly get along like best buddies when we started shooting, but we get along just fine.”

As for rumours of them sharing cold vibes on the sets, he adds, “Well, Sonam’s a lovely person and I’ve always had immense respect for her. Sure, as actors we’ve had our share of differences, but that doesn’t mean there was any trouble brewing. The roles given to us were a challenge in themselves and it wasn’t easy for both of us. It took some time, but we did work out our comfort zone.”

Shahid also vehemently denies getting any preferential treatment on the sets since it’s his father’s film, something that had apparently ticked off Sonam in the first place.

“To be honest, my dad’s too much of a professional to allow anything like that. Forget pampering, on the contrary, I often even turned a spot boy on the sets, so where’s the question of being high-handed?” he argues.

“My dad’s not a strict father, but he can be a very strict film-maker for sure,” smiles Shahid in an attempt to put to rest all rumours of regarding his equation with Sonam.
