Oprah Winfrey felt a sense of emptiness after Australia visit

TV mogul Oprah Winfrey has revealed that she 'felt a sense of emptiness' following her visit Down Under.

The turmoil was revealed on an episode of Winfrey's new documentary-style show, Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes.

The behind-the-scenes show airs on Winfrey's new American cable TV channel OWN and follows her team of producers as they plan, organise and shoot episodes of the talk show, including her four-part Ultimate Australian Adventure.

Winfrey did not have positive feelings after joining Prime Minister Julia Gillard on stage at Federation Square and addressing the jubilant crowd.

She was disappointed because the event was "all about me" and she missed an opportunity to leave the crowd "a little kernel of teaching".

"I felt really great that those many people showed up, but I felt a sense of emptiness there," News.com.au quoted her as saying.

"Getting thousands of people to show up isn't a big deal. Getting thousands of people to show up and then having something to say to them is a big deal," she added.

Winfrey described the Federation Square experience as "a major shift in my life".
