Mountain model: At 6 feet 3 inches, 23-year-old Bharat Arora (better known as the Mountain Dew dude) is synonymous with ramp shows. Delhi stylists Jojo and Yatan once randomly asked him to do a print photo shoot for choreographers Aparna and Tanya. Thus, that was the model’s first step into glamourdom.

Telly tubby: Bharat was first spotted in a cameo role for a TV show called ‘Remix’, post which he suddenly upped and relocated from Mumbai to Delhi A self-confessed ‘mamma’s boy’, he claimed he was homesick and hence the sudden move. Realising the pastures are greener in Mumbai, Bharat moved back and nabbed a role in ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’. From one lucky K to the other, Bharat is now currently shooting for ‘Kahiin Toh Hoga.’ “I was told that Ektaa Kapoor is a slave driver, but she’s actually warm, friendly and a workaholic with no time limit. It’s fantastic to work with her as her energy is contagious,” says the charming Balaji find.

Independence rocks: Bharat’s most memorable shoot was for last year’s Independence issue cover of a weekly magazine, along with two other models. “The photographer wanted a serious yet festive look with a lot of gusto, but we were just not getting it right. Then someone got a brainwave and put on ‘Kajra Re’ and gave me a dholak. I played the dholak and my 10kg sherwani was drenched in sweat by the end of the shoot. But the results were outstanding,” smiles Bharat, who can also be seen in ads for Yamaha, Hutch, Pantaloons, Motorola, etc.

Wild at heart: Besides modelling and acting, Bharat enjoys trekking. He also loves watching international cinema. This Sagittarian is a big fan of dark, intense films and eventually would love to star in non-commercial type of film like ‘Omkara’.
