Now, film on Lalit Modi’s fall?

As the drama on IPL head Lalit Modi unfolds, there’s a film script that is being written simultaneously. However, according to the producers, it will be at least two years before the film goes on the floors. But if Lalit Modi can’t shake off the controversy surrounding him, sources say that the film will then be made with a different character in the lead but it will still be about the ‘Commissioner’ — Lalit Modi, the real-life hero who fell from grace.

The commissioner — the film on Modi’s life which was being scripted under his direct supervision — will not be stalled at any cost, say the producers. “There is no question of stalling the film and backing out. Don’t you agree that the film has just gotten more interesting? The script of the film is being written right now and we have already spent some money to acquire the rights of the film. We are keenly watching the events now and everything that is happening right now will be incorporated into the film,” says Shailendra Singh, who officially secured the rights of the film from Modi a few months back.

However, Shailendra says that the film will be incomplete without a perfect ending. “I think we will wait for some more time to wait and see what happens because the film needs to have a perfect ending. As of now, picture abhi baki hai mere dost,” says Shailendra.

Sources say that Modi has told his producers that he doesn’t want the film stalled because he hopes to bounce back.
