Not without my mask!

There’s no doubt that swine flu is certainly the ultimate scare in town. The latest we hear is that TV actor Akshay Anand did not come for the launch of his own show due to the flu scare. What’s more, henceforth he wants to shoot with his mask on.

Last week, TV show Basera had invited the media to have a first look at the sets of the new show at FM studio, Goregaon. Needless to say Akshay, who is an important part of the show, was also supposed to be there along with the other cast members. However, he did not make it and the reason cited was swine flu.

Says a source from the production house, “When he did not reach the sets, we got worried and called him up to know the reason. He flatly cited the reason as swine flu and refused to come to a crowded place. The next thought that came to our mind was whether the next day he would come for the shoot or not. When we asked him, he said that he would come for the shoot only with a mask on. We were stunned with his reply.”

When contacted, Akshay says, “Actually, I was arriving from Delhi, so I got a little late. Also, because of the flu scare, I was a little worried. My family doctor has strongly advised me not to go to any crowded places.” When asked how he’s going to manage shooting with a mask on, he replies nonchalantly, “I would prefer to take as much precaution as possible.”
