No time to meet Tom Cruise, says Sonam Kapoor

Sonam's busy schedule kept her from meeting dad Anil Hollywood co-star in LA

No time to meet Tom Cruise, says Sonam Kapoor

Actress Sonam Kapoor is probably one of the few actors in B-Town who’s avoided being linked up with any of her co-stars. ‘A blessing’, according to the star, who says that she prefers it that way too.

“I think the chemistry’s better on screen if the pair is not involved off it,” she says. However Sonam does admit to being good friends with most of her co-stars, including Shahid Kapoor with whom she will soon be seen in Mausam.

Post talks of them not seeing eye to eye, that’s quite a change, but Sonam reveals that there was never any issue between them to begin with.

“I didn’t know Shahid at all before we started shooting. So, maybe we came in with pre-conceived ideas about each other. But once we understood each other better, we realised that we are far different from what each had imagined. I’m glad that it was all sorted out, as I have found a 3 am friend in him!” she shares.

But what makes her friendship with Shahid really special is because Sonam believes that it’s hard to find true friends in this industry. “I think most people here have an underlying agenda. They double-talk and simply don’t have the guts to stick by what they say. But it has stopped bothering me now. I’m not here to make friends. That’s why Shahid is special, because he’s such a rarity,” she adds.

What about her other friend Ranbir Kapoor? “Too much has happened now to call him my friend. I don’t think of him as my friend any more,” says Sonam admitting that she is aware that this might mean losing out plum projects opposite him. “I won’t regret turning down any offers with him,” she says. “I don’t care if people consider me a snob or arrogant; that’s a tag people earn here for being honest, so I’m okay with it.”

What Sonam’s also okay with is not being able to meet Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise, who’s her dad actor Anil Kapoor’s co-star in Mission Impossible 4. “Well, I was busy shooting here, while they were in LA, so I just couldn’t get time off to drop in on the sets there,” she adds. “Anyway, I’m more of a Leonardo DiCaprio fan than Tom’s. Wouldn’t want to miss meeting him for anything,” she laughs.
