No fight between Madhur Bhandarkar and me: Mugdha Godse

The actress squashes rumours of an apparent fall-out with mentor, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.

No fight between Madhur Bhandarkar and me: Mugdha Godse

It seems like actor Mugdha Godse, who was missing from the big screen action for most part of last year, is now trying to make up for it. The actor has already had two releases this year — Gali Gali Chor Hai and Will You Marry Me? — and is now gearing for two more. “I was shooting back-to-back last year. But it’s just co-incidence that all the films are releasing this year, so yes, I was out of sight, but not out of work,” she smiles, explaining her year long absence.

Excited about the positive response her two releases this year got her, Mugdha says that she’s only doing films that would interest her as a movie lover too.

“I love watching films as much as I love acting, so my only criteria for choosing a film is if I will enjoy watching it myself.” Incidentally, her last release starred Shreyas Talpade with whom she will soon be seen in her next film Oh God Saare Hain Fraud as well. “It’s always fun shooting with Shreyas,” she says. And of course, apart from non-stop conversations in Marathi, the two even bonded on authentic Marathi cuisine. “It was like a fun family outing, we all would get ghar ka khana on the sets, and everyone from the crew would join in,” shares Mugdha. Then she also has Afra Tafri with Suniel Shetty and Govinda to look forward to.

But these films apart, one wonders, why there are no films with mentor and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar on the cards. “We will work together when he has the right role for me,” she says. And what about talks of their fall-out post Fashion? “It’s just rubbish. I hold him in high regard, but I don’t expect him to offer me films just because he knows me,” explains the actor. “I don’t mix friendships with work, so no, there’s no fight or bitterness between us,” she adds.
