Networking is important, says Prachi Desai

For actor Prachi Desai, networking was all about going out and meeting her friends, until an imposter on micro-blogging site, Twitter, prompted her to rethink her decision to join the bandwagon. She reveals, “I am not on Twitter yet but I am going to join in a few days. When I was shooting with Abhishek (Bachchan) in Jaipur, he casually asked me if I was on Twitter because he saw my name on the website. Abhi is very tech savvy and he said the person on the website didn’t sound anything like me,” says the actor who was taken aback when she learnt about the imposter online.

“That is when I realised that there is an imposter on the micro-blogging site who has been talking to people under the pretext of being me. What is even stranger is that the person knows minute details about my life — like who I meet and what I do through the day. I have a feeling this is the job of an insider and I need to track this person down and put an end to this. The only way to do it is to join the site and tell people about the real me,” says the actor.
While Prachi insists that she is not averse to joining the micro-blogging site, she says the mystery element about an actor diminishes when he/she becomes very accessible.

“There is always a certain element of mystique and charm about actors and their lives. Being online kind of reduces that to a great extent. But I have realised that it is a great way to keep in touch with your fans and clarify all the wrong news doing the rounds about you. So once I am back from my vacation, I will join the bandwagon because networking is important,” says the pretty actor. 

Since Prachi revealed that she is off for a vacation, we couldn’t resist but ask her more about her time off. “I am so excited about this vacation. I haven’t been on a break for a while and I think I really need some time off. I love going on fun trips with my friends and this time I am going with my gal pals. It will be a super fun trip and I’m looking forward to it,” she says.
