Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and his family have been bringing home the Ganesh idol for the past 17 years but the actor says that he worships other deities as well. Neil credits his family for having inculcated and instilled values of spirituality in him.

“My family has played the biggest role in bringing me up with the right values. We celebrate each festival with equal enthusiasm and festivity. I believe festivals are the best time for families to catch up with each other. We have a grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at home where the entire family gets together for ten days.”

The actor also plans to take off with his parents to a couple of religious places in the next few months. The actor had recently been to Shirdi and besides giving him a sense of peace and contentment, it provides Neil a much-needed break as well.

“I drove to Shirdi with my parents and I loved every bit of the journey. Now I have decided to take that trip often because it gives me time to spend with my parents as well.” Neil also made a trip to the Maa Amba temple in Ambaji and the Krishna Temple in Dakor, once again with his parents.

Neil has also resolved to go and spend some time with his sister who lives in Kanpur soon. “My sister, Neha and I are very close. Because of my hectic shooting schedules, I am hardly able to spend time with my sister and her kids so I am going to make sure I take that trip sometime soon.”

The actor is also making sure that he spends enough time with his family and friends before he takes off to a host of locations to shoot for Abbas Mustan’s next film.

“I will soon start shooting for the film and I don’t know when I will be able to get some time off so I am making the most of the time available and having fun.”
