My life is a soap opera: Jennifer Aniston

Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston is quite outspoken and brash, but when it comes to her personal life, she’d rather keep mum.

The actress’s personal life has been under constant scanner, ever since she went through a high-profile divorce with actor Brad Pitt, a couple of years ago. “It is tough because people always want to know intimate details of your life. You’re always in the hopes to reach that mental goal. It’s something that’s always just going to be there for people in this business. You just need to find a peace with it somewhere or you’ll just be driven insane.”

Amidst all this madness, the only people she can be herself with and vent all her frustration out are her girlfriends. Jen heavily relies on her special gang of girls to lift up her spirits when she is down and out. “It’s so important. I’ve been fortunate that they’ve been in my life for so many years. We’ve grown up together. They keep it real ’cause it’s all so unreal.”

Once a party girl, she now prefers the dinner and catching up routine.  “God, we don’t go to bars anymore. Those were the days. We love to go get Mexican food. We had this tradition where every Tuesday night we’d go to this one Mexican restaurant and where we’d get our nachos and our delicious margaritas. Or we’d go to my house which is really where we love to be, in the comfort of home.” Ever since her divorce, the actress has had a string of relationships and though she is single right now, she is quite content with life and is in a happy space.

“The biggest misconception people have about me is that I am not happy in life.  I don’t know.  It’s the narrative I’ve been blessed with. It’s what I’m stuck with. At a certain point you’ve got to stop listening to it or try to set the record straight and just say I’m a happy, content human being.  My life is in a very good place at this moment. It’s the soap opera, it’s the storyline. It sells magazines”, she jokes.

The actress’s next film, Just Go With It is up for release and Jen thinks the best part of the film was working with one of her oldest and favourite co-stars, Adam Sandler.  “I’ve known him so long. He’s just a funny guy, a family guy. We just have fun. It’s an environment that you just can’t wait to walk into everyday,” she concludes.
