Mumbaiikars are taken for granted: Dia Mirza

Actor Dia Mirza, like any other Mumbaikar is hurt, pained and furious as the city faces yet another attack. And just like every common man, Dia reveals that she too is tired of these serial blasts and attacks that rock Mumbai every few years.

Dia is also quick to point out that this act of cowardice also showcases the severe lapse in the state’s security system. Though the blast lasted for a few minutes, the after-effects continue to haunt for a long time, she shares.

“I am fed up. I am fed up just like every citizen of this country is. What will come of all the speculation and the talk fodder? All I feel at a time like this is anger and disgust. For how long are innocent, unsuspecting people going to pay a price for ugly, faceless resentment?” fumes Dia.

The actor also vents angst about the famous Mumbai’s resilient spirit and feels that Mumbaikars are taken for granted by being called resolute.

The actor feels that the ‘no choice’ attitude is misunderstood and used as a defensive tactic by people in power. She even tweeted, “Mumbai moves on not because it is resilient, but because Mumbai has no choice. Everyone HAS to go back to WORK.” An upset Dia also points out that hopefully this time the terrorists are made to pay the price for their spineless acts.
