MPCA seeks entertainment tax waiver for fourth India-Windies ODI

The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has urged the state government to waive off the entertainment tax for the fourth one-dayer between India and West Indies at Indore's Holkar Stadium on December 8.

"We have requested Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to waive the entertainment tax which would be around Rs 75 lakh," MPCA CEO Rohit Pandit said at a press conference here today.

The stadium, having capacity of 21,000 spectators, would fetch revenue worth Rs two crore, he said.

The day-night encounter will be the 12 ODI held in Indore and the third hosted by the Holkar stadium, MPCA Secretary Narendra Menon said.

For the match, S Ravi (Chennai) and Tony Hill (New Zealand) would be on-field umpires, Sudhir Asnani (Indore) would be TV umpire, Nandan of Bangalore would be the fourth umpire. Former Australia batman David Boon would be the match referee and Kamlesh Thakkar (Maharashtra Cricket Association) would be the BCCI observer, he said.

The team would arrive at Indore by a chartered flight from Ahmedabad, that hosts the third ODI, on December 6, he added.
