Moushumi gets spiritual

The actor reveals how faith helped her and daughter Megha heal in ‘Man Mein Hai Vishwas

Actor Moushumi Chatterjee may be known as the eternal ballika badhu, but the actor says that she has a ‘deep spiritual side’ which she will reveal in the forthcoming episode of the show ‘Man Mein Hai Visshwas’ (Sony).

Incidentally, the faith-based show, where people recount miracles that have changed their lives, will have the actor anchoring a special one-hour episode. Moushumi will relate how she and her daughter Megha were cured of chicken-pox due to her implicit faith in God.

Moushumi relates, “My younger daughter Megha was seven-years-old. I came back from shooting one day only to realise that she was suffering from a severe attack of chicken-pox.” She continues, “I was terrified as I wanted my daughter to be part of the industry. She couldn’t afford to have her face scarred.” Moushumi prayed fervently and urged Mata Shitladevi to give her the illness and relieve her daughter from it.

Moushumi recalls, “Soon Megha started recovering. I contacted chicken-pox instead. It was all over my face, eyes and tongue.” Moushumi, who was a lead heroine then, had her producers worried. The actor prayed to God saying, “I don’t mind bearing this illness since I’ve asked for it. But I don’t want a single scar to remain on my face!”

Miraculously, Mosuhmui was back to work within a week. “The doctors were astonished to see my clean face. I only applied calamine lotion and chandan,” she ends with pride.

The episode will air on November 17. Incidentally, Moushumi has films ‘Main Phir Aaunga’ and  Basu Chatterjee’s entertainer coming up.
