More power to Indian heroines: Mallika Sherawat

Actress Mallika Sherawat is happy that ‘a lot’ of Bollywood heroines are walking the red carpet at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. Speaking just before leaving for the film festival, the actor says that it means that the world is waking up to Bollywood movies.

“It is great that more and more Bollywood actors are going to Cannes and representing India. More power to all the heroines in Bollywood,” she says.

Mallika Sherawat also indicated that she won’t be taking the red carpet with anybody else in Bollywood, but wouldn’t mind sharing the honours with as many entrants from Bollywood.

Besides Sherawat, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Rani Mukerji and Minissha Lamba are walking the red carpet along with Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar.  This would be Mallika’s third outing at Cannes. “The Oscars, President Barack Obama and now going to Cannes (again), it is the third international step that I’ve taken this year. I am keeping my fingers crossed,” says Mallika. She will be promoting her movie at the Cannes,  it’s a romantic comedy revolving around US President Barack Obama’s election campaign.
