MJ to be buried in concrete wrapped coffin to ward off grave robbers

Michael Jackson's coffin will be encased in thick concrete to protect it from grave robbers.

The King of Pop's funeral will be held in the family's compound at a walled Los Angeles cemetery on September 3.

Jackson's children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, seven, are said to have penned emotional goodbye letters that will be placed in his £18,000 gold-plated coffin, reports the Daily Express.

The newspaper also says that the singer may be laid to rest with his trademark white glove.

Jackson's brother Marlon has revealed that he has been fitted with a new shoulder-length wig while his face was painted with full stage makeup.

Soul legend Aretha Franklin is due to perform at the graveside during the ceremony, to be attended by just family and close friends.

A wall of concrete will then be poured around the coffin to keep ghoulish souvenir hunters at bay.

Marlon said: "This is the final step - the final curtain will be closed as regards to Michael's life. It's a quiet place where the children will be able to visit in private."
