Milind Soman plays cop again

Model-turned-actor Milind Soman’s Bollywood career may not be going great guns, but that isn’t stopping the actor from gunning for baddies onscreen.

And the actor will soon be seen playing a cop in the forthcoming film 27_13.20 Nakshatra.

Interestingly, Milind has played several similar roles in the past, including films like 16 December and more recently Shadow, and has also done a lot of research on the ways of the police life.

So, when the producer and director were planning to make him wear designer outfits for his character in the film, the actor gave them a reality check of sorts and insisted on skipping expensive gear and opting instead for simple checkered shirts.

“The look has to be authentic. A police officer, who earns around Rs8,000 a month, cannot possibly afford such expensive clothes,” was his reasoning. And the filmmakers who were already impressed with Milind’s dedication, considering he’s done most of his daredevil stunts himself, were further floored.

Producer Ravindra Singh says, “I think that Milind’s personality makes him just perfect to play the police officer. As an actor, he was very involved with the script and gave us some valuable suggestions.

He was an expert on these matters and even caught the finer nuances  like drinking tea in glasses instead of coffee in fancy mugs. He also cut his hair real short to look genuine.”
