Mel C says Cheryl Cole can save her solo career

Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm (Mel C) has confessed that X Factor judge Cheryl Cole could help get her solo career back on track.

Scary Spice, as she was known in the all-girl band, the 35-year-old singer-songwriter, is starring in West End musical Blood Brothers, in which she is playing the lead female role of Mrs Johnstone.

Her success after leaving the group has earned her a Brit Award nomination and a record company of her own called Red Girl Records.

But now, she will be looking to former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl-whose first solo single reached No1 last month and who has been praised for being the fastest-selling single of the yea-for inspiration.

"I think I should probably get Cheryl Cole to give me some advice on solo projects," The Daily Express quoted her as saying at the Pinktober Hard Rock fundraising night for the Caron Keating Foundation at London's Royal Albert Hall.

"She is doing fantastically well. Going solo is hard and I wish her much luck. I'm a fan and she's making a great start,' said Mel of Cheryl.
