The actor enjoys her negative act as Suhani in ‘Maayka’

A model, a back-up dancer with choreographer Saroj Khan and now with two shows in her kitty, Jasveer Kaur has come a long way.

“A call for ‘Ghar ki Laxmi Betiyaan’ (Zee) was the starting point. My role as Pavitra has been most enjoyable. I love making everyone’s life miserable on the show,” she laughs. ‘Maayka’ was the next show that she took on. Jasveer says, “I am wondering how to make my character Suhani look more exciting. I have shopped for a new wardrobe and am experimenting with my look. I want to colour my hair red or blue.”

Although both the shows have her playing negative Jasveer says, “I want to try my hand at all kinds of roles. Like my co-star Romit Raj who is positive in ‘Maayka’ but plays negative in ‘Betiyaan’.”

And what does mentor Saroj Khan have to say about her protégée? “Oh, she is very proud of my success. I was a back-up dancer with her for a year and did songs like ‘Maar dala’ and ‘Dola re’ (‘Devdas’). I am in touch with her,” she says adding, “I got loads of compliments after my mujra act in ‘Maayka’. In fact, I had a few of my fans asking me to teach their wards dancing too.”
