Mallika Sherawat nervous about repeating 'Hiss'tory

Actress Mallika Sherawat is known to ruffle some feathers wherever she goes. But it looks like she’s finally getting ready to turn over a new leaf.

For starters Sherawat has been away from the city for a good two months, and hobnobbing in the United States to promote her upcoming Hollywood film.

Sources in the know say that the leggy lass was so keen to ensure that everything goes as planned that she packed her bags and decided to stay there itself till the film’s release.

“Mallika has put her heart and soul into this film and it’s finally up for release this month end. Her contract apparently states that she had to be there till the film released, but she was pretty enthusiastic about it and didn’t complain even once. She was in LA for a major part of the past two months, jetting out only for a few days to honour other commitments. Otherwise, this film is all she has been living and breathing since two months,” says a source.

And just to be sure how determined Sherawat is to make this work — it may be recalled that she apparently didn’t mind rubbing off the team of her last released Bolly film Double Dhamaal, the wrong way when she decided to put in her effort to promote Politics of Love over the Hindi comedy at an awards ceremony abroad. 

A friend close to Sherawat insists that she’s feeling the butterflies in her stomach now. “This is a very important film for Mallika. Her previous stint with Hollywood (Hiss) didn’t exactly do well. She’s hoping that things will work in her favour this time around. She’s very excited but at the same time she’s keeping her fingers crossed and praying and hoping that this film will open many other doors for her in Hollywood,” says the source talking about the actress’s current state-of-mind.

If you’re thinking that Sherawat aka Jalebi bai will forget her Bollywood connect amidst all this, think again. When quizzed previously, at the risk of sounding cheesy, the siren had stated, “You can take me out of India but you can never take India out of me. I’ll always be back.” Now the big question is, when and in which movie?
