Mallika Sherawat already livin’ the high life on the Croisette

Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat is gearing up for her appearance at the 64th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival, yet again. Almost a pro at conducting herself at international events now (having been spotted at the Oscars and the White House too), Sherawat says that her prime motto is to just enjoy herself while at a global event.

The actress, who has a reputation for being quite choosy about her wardrobe, hotel she stays in and the like, is making sure that this visit is no exception to her rule. “I’m staying at the famed Majestic Barjdriere. Most of Hollywood’s A-listers are also put up here. I have a suite to myself with a terrace that has a fabulous view of the Croisette,” says Sherawat speaking from Cannes. The billing for this suite, say sources, is around $ 25,00,000 per week, but the diva’s airs don’t end there.

Sherawat, a vegan, is particular about her diet. “No matter which part of the world she is travelling in, she has to have her diet sorted out for her. The hotel is arranging for a special vegan chef for Mallika and a select other vegans staying in the hotel,” says a source  close to the actress.

Apart from putting together her wardrobe for her red carpet appearance on May 17 to promote her film Politics of Love, Barack, Sherawat, say sources, will also “catch up with old friends and scout relatively unknown places in the French Riviera.”

But the big question remains — has Sherawat settled on her wardrobe yet? “Pretty much —her hair and make-up will be done by Christian Dior. Sherawat’s outfits will be a mix of Shahab Durazi and a French couture brand. Her shoes are a pair of specially crafted handmade ones by Nando Muzi, known for their exquisite Italian custom wear footwear,” says the source.

On a parting note, ask Sherawat who she’s met at Cannes this time and she says, “I’ll tell you when the time is right. Right now, my only focus is my movie.”
