Madhuri faces identity crisis

Apparently that’s what actor Madhuri Dixit Nene is facing these days on several social networking sites.

Madhuri faces identity crisis

Bollywood’s dhak dhak star who is known to be quite reserved and usually keeps away from the limelight, has decided to finally come out of her shell and sign up for an account on a social networking site. Actor Madhuri Dixit-Nene, who plays the doting mother to her kids Arin and Ryan is away in Denver, US for most part of the year. However, that hasn’t dented her popularity here.

And that’s probably one of the reasons that the actor finally gave in to her fans’ demands and decided to join on the social networking sites on her recent visit here.

But while she had received a warm welcome on the micro-blogging site Twitter, she’s had a bit of a trouble with Facebook. In a short span of time, the actor had all the industry folk welcoming her and soon enough she was being followed by most of the actors.

A source close to the actor says, “Madhuri had been contemplating for quite sometime. Since she spends most of her time in Denver, she realised that her fans were missing her back in Mumbai. She finally decided to take the plunge and thought Twitter was the best way to get in touch and regularly be updated about what is happening in Mumbai. But recently, she was in a bit of a soup after she had a couple of fake ID’s in her name. Imposters on the social networking sites were tweeting and the worst part was that the account had a lot of followers too. That is when Madhuri decided to take matters into her own hands.”

Mads immediately got into damage control mode and got the entire lot of fake ID’s removed. She also tweeted, “For those who are wondering, I have no official Facebook page or account. Facebook is unable to verify the identity of the users.” To ensure no such thing happens in the future, Madhuri decided to get her account verified and for this she provided authentic identification to the Twitter officials in the way of two forms of ID.

By doing this, the actor has now gotten rid of all the fake ID’s floating around on Twitter but she is yet to combat Facebook when it comes to fake profiles. A source close to her says, “Madhuri really like Twitter because it is simple, easy and efficient. Also unlike Twitter, Facebook does not have a mechanism to remove fake ID’s, which is probably why, she will never sign up.”
