Lucknow high court issues notice to Centre on PIL seeking stay on ''Ready''

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court today issued notice to Centre on a PIL seeking stay on public exhibition of Salman Khan starrer movie 'Ready' and sought its reply on the issue on June 12.

A vacation division bench of Justices Devi Prasad Singh and SC Chaurasia passed this order.

The PIL, moved jointly by chairman of Hindu Personal Law Board and local lawyer Ashok Pandey and its general secretary Vinod Shanker Mishra, had raised objection on song "Character Dheela" and had also sought direction to cancel certification of the movie.

The movie starring Salman Khan and Asin was released on June 3.

The petitioner submitted the song having "raas leela" in its lyrics, which is being aired on television channels is indecent and an attack on the Sanatan dharma.

Actor Salman Khan, director Anees Bazmi, Central Board of Film Certification and the secretary information and broadcasting have been made respondents in the PIL.

The Court while hearing the PIL also clubbed similar petitions against the movies like Peepli Live, Omkara, Gangajal etc.
