Los Angeles mansion where Michael Jackson died up for grabs

The house where legendary pop singer Michael Jackson died is now up for sale for 30 million dollars.

The French chateau-style mansion has seven bedrooms, a seven-car garage and 13 bathrooms, according to TMZ.

The 1600 sq metre mansion is situated in the affluent Los Angeles suburb of Holmby Hills.

The house has 12 working fireplaces, a theatre, wine cellar and gymnasium as well as an inbuilt elevator to travel up and down its three levels.

Interested buyers will have to undergo an 'extensive pre-qualifying check' to tour the home, in an effort to avoid diehard fans wanting to see where the King of Pop died, reports The Herald Sun.

The home's owner, Ed Hardy chief executive Hubert Guez, rented the mansion to Jackson in 2009 as the singer rehearsed his This Is It tour.

It was reported that Guez apparently tried to sell the property in 2008 before agreeing to rent it to Jackson.
