Look who’s wooing Katrina Kaif!

While speculations continue to mount whether filmmaker Karan Johar will be selling the remake rights of Agneepath down South, where filmmakers apparently are showing a keen interest in the project, comes a fresh round of rumours.

Apparently, filmmakers are already planning to approach Chikni Chameli, actor Katrina Kaif to do the same item song in the South remake too, whenever the film gets made there. As of now, buzz is that Johar is not keen to sell the rights of the film, but he hasn’t turned down any offers as yet and may be contemplating about it. But that isn’t stopping filmmakers from wanting to approach Kat.

“Ever since news of her doing the film with Rajinikanth has come about, her stocks have shot up down South. They know that she has a very busy schedule ahead. She is shooting for Ek Tha Tiger, then she will start the films with Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan, so they want to make sure that she can give them tentative dates.

Also, even if Agneepath doesn’t happen, there are other films they want her to be a part of.,” says an insider. However it won’t be Kat’s first brush with South, as she had done a Telugu film Malliswari (The Princess) with South star Venkatesh in 2004.
Katrina, who is at present shooting with Salman Khan for Ek Tha… meanwhile, is happy to finally have her own solo dance tracks like Sheila Ki Jawani or now Chikni Chameli that she could dance to on stage. “As actors, it’s always nice to have some numbers that you can dance to on stage. I am glad that people have liked my dance numbers. Both are fun numbers that even I enjoy dancing to,” says Katrina.

Though she was unavailable for comment, a source close to the actress added, “Katrina loves dancing, but she is very particular about doing any item song. Sheila was part of the film, and she did Chikni only because she shares a comfort level with Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan. So, yes she has been getting several offers for item songs, but for now she doesn’t even have time to discuss those offers.”
