Look who’s invited for Imran Khan’s wedding reception

Actor Aamir Khan had previously decided to host a huge bash to celebrate his nephew, actor Imran Khan’s wedding. But now, for all practical reasons, the guest list is being trimmed and only a few select high-profile friends of Aamir, his wife Kiran Rao and the newly-weds will make it to the reception to be held tomorrow at the Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra.

“We know that the whole industry is talking about the wedding reception but the ballroom that has been selected at the Taj won’t be able to accommodate all of them. Now only a select 150-odd people will be invited for the party. The list may be trimmed even further,” says a source.

Though everybody in the industry is waiting for an invite, Aamir Khan had earlier confirmed to DNA that he will personally call to invite only his close friends for the reception.

“It’s a big day for us (the reception). I will be hosting the party and I will call everybody personally to be a part of the joyous occasion. I am expecting every friend of mine to join us in the celebrations,” Aamir had said a day before Imran got hitched.

Sources suggest that the elite guest-list that has been drawn up by Aamir is sure to leave everyone dazzled. The reception will provide a platform for warring actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan to patch up. Sources also say that the actor has invited his ‘best friend’ from outside the industry and his neighbour — cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

“Aamir has invited actor Amitabh Bachchan and his family, along with Sachin and industrialist Anil Ambani for the bash. They are all his close friends. Whether he likes it or not, it will become a massive show of strength for Aamir,” says the source adding that the Birla family is also on the new guest list, which has been pruned to one-third of its original size now.
