Lohri with Beti B

Today is a rather special day for the Bachchan family. Not only was it Beti B’s first Lohri yesterday, according to a source , today on Makar Sankranti is when the Bachchans are also likely to announce the name of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s first child.

“Lohri is a rather auspicious day and there was a huge celebration planned last night,” says a source. Apparently, the name was to be disclosed to all the immediate family members yesterday, and the announcement will be made anytime soon now. A rather-happy Amitabh even took to Twitter as he recalled celebrating Lohri with mum Teji Bachchan. “LOHRI diyaan vadhayiyaan !! Momphali, gur, sarson da saag te makke di roti .. lai lava ag vich .. such beautiful memories… And my Mother telling us tales of her early years when they went from house to house, seeking donations, singing. lohri da takka de, rab tennu bachcha de..’ such joy in those early years of innocence…” wrote Bachchan Sr on the micro-blogging site. No announcements about the name were made till the time of going to press..
