Learnt many things from 'Jhenda': Avdhoot Gupte

Singer-composer-turned filmmaker Avdoot Gupte has said his movie Jhenda was overall a learning experience for him.

"I could have released the movie even without making any changes. However, anticipating trouble and with a bid to avoid it beforehand, I decided to go in for some changes, albeit minor," Avdoot, director of Jhenda told reporters here last night.

Jhenda (flag), based on the travails of political party workers, courted controversy as Nilesh, son of Congress leader Narayan Rane, objected to a character in the movie.

"I have not chopped off any scenes from the movie. I have just changed some dialogues and the name of a character," Avdoot said.

However, Avdoot, himself a noted singer, is not sure whether he would continue as a movie director.

"I have learnt many things from Jhenda. However, I have not decided whether I would be producing or directing movies in future," he said.

Jhenda is scheduled for a state-wide release tomorrow.
