Language no bar for Bipasha Basu

Bipasha reveals that she won’t mind doing films in any industry — Bollywood, Hollywood, Bengali or South — as long as the role interests her

Language no bar for Bipasha Basu

Actress Bipasha Basu who will soon be seen making her Hollywood debut in Singularity, reveals that working on the film was an amazing experience and can’t wait for the film to release.

“Yes, there was a slight delay, but the film’s very much on track,” she says brushing aside all rumours of the film being in trouble. She also laughs off rumours that linked her  with her
firang co-star Josh Hartnett during the shooting. “Josh and I got along really well, but it’s ridiculous to link us just because we are co-stars,” she says. As for working with director Roland Joffe, Bipasha adds that he was thoroughly professional and a joy to work with. “I am looking forward to meeting them again soon,” she enthuses.

However, the actor’s wary when it comes to comparisons between the two industries. “The differences between Hollywood and Bollywood are purely technical. That’s mostly because the budgets there are huge, and the scale is larger,” says Bipasha.

“But at the end of the day it’s all about a bunch of people working passionately for their film. That love for the art and craft of films and filmmaking is common, whether it’s Hollywood, Bollywood or regional cinema,” adds the actor, saying that she’s game for interesting films irrespective of the language.

“I don’t think language can be a barrier for any actor if they want to do a role they like,” she says, adding that she herself has dabbled in Bengali cinema and is game for South films too. “As long as the role interests me, I am all for it,” she reiterates. Talking about her films here, the actor who is currently shooting for Raaz 3, wants to now focus on her fitness DVDs after wrapping up her film with actor Emraan Hashmi. “I have been planning to work on my fitness DVD for over six months now and I have made up my mind to take it up right after Raaz 3. My films had pushed it to the back seat, but it will be back on my priority list soon,” she says.
