Kriti Kharbanda on her career in Telugu cinema, future plans

As actor Kriti Kharbanda gears up for her final bits in her upcoming Telugu flick Mr Nokia, she’s already signed another one. “I’ve just signed a new film, which is opposite Kalyan Ram. Funnily, this too is a two-heroine project, where Nikeesha Patel will be playing the second lead,” says Kriti, who’s been part of two other two-heroine films, Teen Maar (co-starring Trisha) and Mr Nokia (co-starring Sana Khan).

She adds, “It is funny how I’ve been getting two heroine projects in Telugu. But, fortunately, the projects have been good and I’ve got good roles so far. And it is the opposite in Kannada, where I’m getting more solo heroine projects.”

Kriti coincidentally is in town as her second Kannada project (this one’s opposite Diganth) will flag off this weekend. Monday, she will be jet setting to Hyderabad where she will be her new Telugu project with Kalyan Ram take off. In fact, the Bangalore girl plans to look for a home in Hyderabad.

“I feel so comfortable when I’m shooting in Bangalore, because I return back home. I’m looking at getting an apartment in Hyderabad as well,” says Kriti, who really was quite homesick when she repeatedly fell ill and injured herself during the shoot of Mr Nokia. “It was a really tough schedule. I kept falling ill and I even hurt my rib cage. I can say that I’ve given my blood and sweat to the film, literally,” she quips.

With having a fabulous crew, which includes Yuvan Shankar Raja as the composer, Mr Nokia is gearing up for release. “We just have the songs and a little talkie portions left. I’m eagerly looking to dance to Yuvan’s tunes. Now that I’ve had Yuvan’s compositions in Telugu and Shreya Ghoshal singing for me in my Kannada debut Chirru, I just have two more wishes. I want Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice for one of my songs. Secondly, I’d say one film with AR Rahman and I’m sorted,” she signs off.
