Koena Mitra bags a red carpet walk

Actor Koena Mitra’s attempt at wooing the West is paying off. The actor he has caught the attention of Hollywood designer Gina Alexander who is now launching an entire range of bags on her name.

Says a source close to Koena, “Gina has worked for the likes of Will Smith and  Snoop Dogg and is exploring Koena’s eyes, personality and her sense of style for this line.”

Says Koena from Los Angeles where she recently attended the Hollywood’s Teen Choice Awards 2010 and was the only Indian to be invited, “We have a rich culture and a history of thousands of years. Gina’s designs would have references to Indian Gods.”

While the bags would be designed free of cost, proceeds of the sale would go to charity.  Koena would also be donating the sales of these bags to the cause of awareness of breast cancer.
