Ke$ha looking for Australian husband

US pop star Ke$ha wants to marry an Australian man.

The 23-year-old has one day off in her Sydney chatfest and wants to spend it with her future husband.

"I have one day off and I'm looking to change my romantic situation so I wouldn't mind meeting up with a hot Australian," News.com.au quoted her as saying.

"To prove their love to me, they need to send a video building something for me in a minute or less, and I'll pick a winner to marry," she said.

The fun-loving singer, songwriter and now award winner - for Best New Talent at the MTV European Music Awards - is striking a more serious note with her new single.

'We R Who We R', which made its debut at No.1 here and the US this week, was written as a shout-out to gay teenagers bullied because of their sexuality.

"Teen gay suicides has become an epidemic in America and I take that pretty personally. I was a misfit - and I am currently hated by lots of people - and I have many, many gay friends and fans so I wanted to write a pop anthem for all of them and the misfits," she said.
