Katrina Kaif to play double role in upcoming films

In what might be a first of sorts for Katrina Kaif, the actress is apparently touted to play a double role in a forthcoming film which will be directed by Dibaker Banerjee.

The grapevine is abuzz with reports that the actress will be seen in two absolutely new avatars. A source says, “Yes, she has been approached for the film, where she’ll be playing a double role. Katrina too has shown a keen interest in the project and is trying to work out the dates with Dibaker. She’s excited with the prospect of playing a double role, as it’s something she hasn’t done before.”

The actress, in one of her earlier interviews had admitted that it would be interesting to play two roles on-screen. Incidentally, last year too there was some buzz about Kaif playing a double role in a remake of Seeta Aur Geeta in a project that was to be helmed by Zoya Akhtar. However, that project didn’t take off. Now, reports suggest that her dream of playing a double role might just come true with Banerjee’s film.

The actress is at present working on Mere Brother Ki Dulhan that also stars actor Imran Khan and singer-actor Ali Zafar. Excited about working with the young Khan she says, “It was great connecting with Imran as he is closer to me in age, as compared to most of my previous co-stars, except Ranbir (Kapoor).” Talking about Imran, she adds, “He’s a very sincere and a serious actor on camera, but off it, he’s a lot of fun. I really enjoy shooting with him.”

But her first on screen outing this year will be Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara in which Kat’s paired opposite actor Hrithik Roshan. “Zoya has very different sensibilities as compared to many film-makers that I’ve worked with and that’s what made working on the film so interesting,” she ends.
