Karnataka minister Renukacharya to debut in films

Controversial MLA and current excise minister Renukacharya is all set to make a foray into stardom. At the muhurat of Bheema Teeradalli, director N Omprakash Rao announced that the minister has given his consent to act in the film.

“I cannot reveal much about this role, but all I can say is that it will be very crucial to the story. I’m really happy that he was confident enough to say yes to my project and trusts me to show him in good light,” says Rao, who believes that this will be a big highlight for the viewers to come watch this film.

“I’m excited about this film. With Renukacharya’s consent, it has given my film a big boost. For, this film also sees me collaborating with Vijay for the first time,” adds an excited Rao, whose previous release was Prince.

There has always been a little soft spot for films with most politicians in the state. Right from the time of Ramachandra Hegde, there have been politicians giving their consent to act in films. We’ve seen many people including MP Prakash, HD Kumaraswamy and Jagadish Shettar among others appear in films. Home minister R Ashok also was supposed to have acted in Sudeep’s Kempegowda, but had to back out in the last minute.
