Karisma Kapoor is a very chilled out person: Jimmy Shergill

Karisma Kapoor is a very chilled out person: Jimmy Shergill

Actor Jimmy Shergill is gearing up for yet another slow and steady innings in Bollywood. Jimmy was last noticed for his bold portrayal of a blue-blooded lover and is now all set to romance actor Karisma Kapoor, in her comeback vehicle Dangerous Ishq.

Ask him how is it working with Karisma and Jimmy says that she is a chilled out person. “Karisma is a very relaxed and chilled out person. We have a lot of action scenes together, so there is never a dull moment on the sets,” he reveals.

Goad him further and he says that they usually stick to discussing films and the industry in general when they manage to get time in between shots. The actor adds, “On the sets, we constantly need to be on our toes, in character, and not lose focus simply because of the nature of the film… we’re all very cautious about our performances and want to deliver at the end of the day.”

Talking about his last release, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Jimmy says that he didn’t expect his bold avatar to garner so much attention. “I was sure of the film and that the character would be appreciated, but the same reaction for my bold scenes was something I did not expect it in the slightest,” he confesses.

So, does this mean that he’s now comfortable pulling off love-making scenes with ease? “No, Not at all!” he laughs. “As surprising as it may sound, I ended up doing what I did in SBG simply because Tigmanshu (director Tigmanshu Dhulia) is a very dear friend and we go a long way back. We share a very comfortable relationship since we have worked together in films like Haasil and Charas. He understands my needs as an actor and I understand the directorial space he comes from. So it didn’t need to say it aloud that I wouldn’t cross a certain line even when it came to displaying intimacy. So my scenes were not as in-your-face as Randeep (Hooda) and Mahie’s (Gill) were. There are certain things I’m not comfortable doing and I don’t see myself doing them in the future either,” he says.
