Kareena Kapoor on coming face-to-face with her likeliness in wax

There was much speculation about the look of actor Kareena Kapoor’s wax statue that was to be unveiled at Madame Tussauds on Thursday, with the odds of it being the Chameli look outweighing most others. So, it was a surprise to see, that it was her Mauja Mauja look instead from the film Jab We Met. Kareena, of course, knew her look all along, but was under a contract to not reveal it. She however admits that it was a tough choice to decide between the two looks.

“I consider both films — Chameli and Jab We Met — very important in my career and both are my personal favourites too, but then I realised that people till date associate me the most with Geet (her character in the Shahid Kapoor starrer), so, we decided to go ahead with that look,” says Kareena.

Talking about her experience of coming face-to-face with her likeliness in wax, she adds that it was ‘a surreal moment’.

“It’s hard to describe how I felt. Of course, it’s an honour to be there with Mr Amitabh Bachchan, Salman (Khan) and Shah Rukh (Khan) and be recognised on such a global platform, but it was also beyond that,” she smiles, adding, “I felt like I was in the heaven with angels!” But while mum Babita was with Kareena by her side at the unveiling, beau actor Saif Ali Khan was not. “Yes, I wish he could be here, but our schedules have gotten a little crazy over the past few weeks. He had to be in Rajasthan to finish off his Agent Vinod schedule. But I have sent him the pictures of the statue and he loved them,” shares Kareena.

The past few days have seen Kareena at her busiest best. “Yes, I’ve been on a continent hopping spree these past few days and I’m losing sense of time. But, it’s all been so exciting. The feeling is yet to sink in completely,” she says referring to her recent release with Shah Rukh that happened around the same time as the unveiling of the statue.

The actor however’s not slowing down any time soon. She’s already off to London from Blackpool, where she will be joining actor Aamir Khan for their film tentatively titled Dhuan, post which she begins work on her film with Imran Khan, then Agent Vinod and then Heroine. Kareena adds, “I have been rushing into one thing after another… it is getting a little crazy, but in a nice way, so no complaints.”
