Kangna Ranaut happy to put on dancing shoes

Actress Kangna Ranaut may be happy with her successful switch to lighter roles, but what the actress is equally excited about is getting to put on her dancing shoes too.

A source reveals that Kangna was rather excited about shaking a leg on screen for her recent films, most of which are incidentally comedies, including Double Dhamaal and romcom Tanu Weds Manu.

“Bollywood goes hand in hand with song and dance routines, but considering the kind of intense roles that Kangna was doing, she didn’t get to do any dance numbers in any of her earlier films. She was missing not doing the song and dance bit immensely as she simply loves dancing,” said the source.

Ask Kangna about it and she agrees. “Yes, I do love dancing and am so glad that I have finally gotten to do some fun dance numbers off late,” she says.

And while several actresses often talk about how grueling the dance rehearsals can be, for Kangna it’s quite the opposite “For me dance is not hard work, but fun through and through. I think when you enjoy the music and the beats, dancing comes easy,” she adds.

Recalling her childhood days, she reveals that she and her sister Rangoli would love dancing to Bollywood numbers, especially those of Amitabh Bachchan.

“We connected Bollywood to the songs, so it was something that we enjoyed a lot. We would dance around with our friends and even make them dance,” shared Kangna.

The actress is also elated that she finally has her own tracks to dance to on stage. So will this mean more stage performances for her? “I don’t care where I dance, as long as I’m having fun. Luckily for me, all my songs have very catchy tunes and you can’t help but break into dance. But yes, it’s definitely good to dance on your own tracks finally,” she admits.

As for item numbers, Kangna feels that today almost all songs look and feel like item numbers. “The music videos shot for the films promotions are no less than item numbers, I feel,” adds Kangna. But is she on for a sizzling hot track on screen then? “Why not. Sexy is fun too!” she smiles.
