Kalki Koechlin spills her love woes!

Actor Kalki Koechlin, who recently wrapped up shooting for director Ayan Mukherjee’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in Manali, is already busy with her next film, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Daayan also starring Konkona SenSharma and Emraan Hashmi. In the break that she gets in between the shoot of the supernatural thriller, the actor will be busy promoting her political thriller, filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai.

But while the actor says that she’s loving every minute of working round-the-clock, she reveals that she is also missing husband, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. “We both miss each other a lot and I think we still haven’t gotten used to being apart for so long. I don’t think it’s something that we will ever get used to. We both try to stay in touch over Skype everyday, but sometines it just gets too hectic,” says Kalki.

“I have my films, Anurag has his. But yes, I’m missing working with him too,” adds the actor. However, Kalki’s clear on the kind of films she now wants to do with Aunrag. “They have to be comedies or some light-hearted stuff. I don’t want to do dark stuff for some time at least,” she smiles. “Not that I have anything against dark films, but it gets emotionally draining and we do tend to carry work home too.”

For now, the actor’s busy with her films, but she hopes to start work on her plays soon. “Theatre will always be my first love,” she shares. “Theatre is liberating. I still get slightly jittery before each performance on stage. The thrill of acting in front of a live audience is unmatchable. There are no camera angles to help you, no retakes. It’s when actors are at their vulnerable best,” explains Kalki. She does admit that theatre’s taken a backseat for now, but in between her shoots, she says it’s hard to not let thoughts wander on the play’s script. “I write when I can, but films take up almost all my time,” she adds. “But I hope to do more of it soon,” says Kalki.
