Kalki Koechlin is one of the boys: Shaitan' co-star Shiv Pandit

Actor Shiv Pandit who makes his Hindi film debut with Shaitan says that shooting sex scenes with Kalki Koechlin in the film was no big deal as she is "one of the boys".

The 28-year-old actress, who recently tied the knot with the thriller's producer, Anurag Kashyap, is not a shrinking violet and that made shooting a lot easier, said Pandit.

"Kalki is very chilled out. She is one of the boys, not shy and very straight forward. So that made shooting the intimate scenes a lot easier," said Shiv about his co-star who has also locked lips with Kirti Kulhari, the other female lead in the film which has already grabbed headlines with it's mix of sex and violence.

Already an established name in Tamil cinema, the actor has travelled many roads to get to Bollywood, including stints as a radio jockey, model and IPL host.

But none of it prepared him for Shaitan, the thriller directed by Beejoy Nambiar which revolves around a group of five friends living it up in Mumbai, before a drunken night-out takes an evil turn.

From whipping himself to shooting in the crowded bylanes of Mumbai, the actor was literally left black and blue by the time for pack up.

"When Beejoy told me about the scene, I just went ahead and just started whipping myself. It was a very hot day and I was so enthusiastic that I really hurt myself doing it. It was only the next day that I became all black and blue," said the young actor.

Pandit plays Dash, a coffee-shop employee who doubles up as a drug dealer at night, in the gritty thriller which was shot in cramped nooks with no place to sit and crowded streets where the throng became a part of the scenes.

"I got pretty beat up while shooting. We shot in very crowded places with small cameras, with the people crowding around not knowing that it was a movie being shot. We shot in basements and attics with not even enough space to stand up or sit down," said the actor.

The film releases on June 11 and Pandit says that he will sign on a second project only after seeing the audience's reaction to his debut.

"I am in no hurry to sign on my second film in Bollywood. I am also promoting my upcoming Tamil release Leelai. I want to see the audience's reaction to Shaitan before signing another film," said Shiv.
