K Sera Sera to produce biopic on 'legendary hockey player'

As hockey fervour grips the nation, Hindi film production company K Sera Sera has announced a biopic on an Indian hockey legend and is in talks with internationally acclaimed directors like Shekhar Kapur and Manoj Night Shyamalan to helm the project.

The film, titled I Am There, will be on the life of a legendary hockey player and will chronicle the iconic moments in the history of Indian hockey.

Though the producers have refused to divulge the name of the player, they have hinted that it is Major Dhyan Chand, the man who was known as the hockey wizard.

"If we talk about Indian hockey, there is one player who has made an indispensable contribution to the game and he will be our hero," Sanjay Gupta, CEO, K Sera Sera, told the Press Trust of India.

"While we are in talks with some of the best in the industry like Shekhar Kapur and Manoj N Shyamalan to direct the film, we have already roped in Gulzar Saheb and Pt Hridaynath Mangeshkar for lyrics and music," Gupta said.

The production company, which has given hits like Golmaal, Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, and Partner, plans to launch a countrywide talent hunt to decide the cast of the film in March after naming the director.
