Justin Timberlake defends Mark Zuckerberg over charity donation

'The Social Network' star Justin Timberlake has defended Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg from critics who accused him of giving £67 million to charity for the publicity of the movie.

At the time of the film's opening, Zuckerberg made his generous donation and appeared on hit cartoon 'The Simpsons', prompting critics to accuse him of attempting to counter portrayal in the movie.

But Timberlake, who plays Napster founder Sean Parker in the film, insists Zuckerberg should be praised for his good deed.

"I know if anyone had the opportunity to be in 'The Simpsons' they would do it because it's a classic television show. I have been on 'The Simpsons'; it's one of the coolest things I've ever done. (And) a donation in any shape or form, especially one that big, should be met with thanks, rather than (questioning) a reason why he might be doing it," the Daily Express quoted Timberlake as telling Sky News.
