John Abraham to don the producer's hat

Actor John Abraham has announced the launch of his production house - JA (John Abraham) Entertainment Pvt Ltd and plans to make cutting edge entertainers with international appeal.

After producing some commercials, the actor is now venturing into commercial films.

JA Entertainment has many films in the rolling, with the first of them being Vicky Donor, directed by Shoojit Sircar in association with Rising Suns Films Pvt Ltd.

John will not star in the film but may make an appearance in future projects.

"It was a conscious decision to not act in my first production because I believe producing a film is about creating quality content that I believe in. Shoojit is a director par excellence, and when he narrated the script to me I wanted to bring this breakthrough commercial cinema to the audience at large."

"John has agreed to take this film ahead as his first venture as producer. We are on the same wavelength, which is most important for any relationship," said Sircar.

According to sources, "John is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring his home productions have production values at par with international standards. He is already in talks with technicians in LA and his film is going to be one to watch out. However, for now details have been kept under wraps."

Meanwhile, John is attempting to carve a niche for himself in the action genre space after Force. His under production films include Race 2 and Shootout at Wadala.

His next release will be Desi Boyz that is set to release November 25.
