John Abraham to do theatre?

He’s the ultimate biker boy of B-Town. But model-turned actor John Abraham’s newest obsession is quite hatke from what you’d think it to be. It’s theatre.

The actor, who never had any formal training from any acting institution, has expressed his interest in taking to the stage. He admits that he loves watching plays. “I love to watch plays… but of late I haven’t been able to see one because of my shooting schedules,” he says.

Abraham, who’s considered one of the sexiest actors in the industry, thanks to his yellow trunks act in Dostana, wishes to do theatre in between films. He admits, “I really want to do theatre. Even though I’m doing films, I also want theatre to be one of the focal points in my life.”

He informs that he was to attend a theatre workshop by veteran actor and theatre director, Naseeruddin Shah. “We spoke during the shoot of 7 Khoon Maaf and I expressed my interest in theatre. I told him this is something I’m going to take up. In fact, he’d called me for a workshop in Khandala, but I was in London that time. So I couldn’t make it,” recalls Abraham.

So will we see him on stage by the end of this year? “Well, whenever the next workshop happens, I’m going to go. I’m waiting to be part of a workshop by Naseer and Benjamin Gilani. As far as theatre goes, I’d definitely like it to be my focus,” concludes the actor.
