John Abraham shares his excitement at celebrating Christmas today

Actor John Abraham may have left for Los Angeles, where he is apparently enjoying a mini-vacation with rumoured girlfriend Priya Runchal at present. In fact, buzz is that he may actually be meeting her parents for Christmas today, before taking off to Las Vegas to bring in the New Year. But not before the hunky star shared his joy of celebrating Christmas with DNA on the eve of his departure.

Getting into the X’mas spirit, our own hunky B-Town Santa revealed that Christmas has always been a rather special occasion at home. And this year seems to be very special for John too, not only professionally, but personally as well. “Christmas has always been a family affair with friends and relatives pouring in all day. Then of course there are the cakes, all the yummy goodies too, and family lunches. We always try and make sure to be home during this time of the year,” says John, even though this year’s proving to be an exception.

However, the actor is quick to point out that more than associating it with religion, John’s grown up to associate the day with the spirit of joyful giving. “The only tradition I follow is that of spreading happiness. I think it’s a fantastic excuse to bring joy and happiness to the loved ones and simply spread the cheer with everyone around,” shares John. “Right from my childhood, my most vivid memory of celebrating the day is of seeing my parents sing Christmas carols at the home for the aged. This, we still do each year. There’s no better gift than to see a smile on those faces,” he adds.

Talking about the celebrations in the Abraham household, John reveals  that his parents usually put up the Christmas tree on his birthday, (December 17). “Yes, mom makes sure that the tree is set up by my birthday and it stays right till the first week of January,” says John. However, this time around, the tree was set up a few days in advance. “Since I had to leave a day earlier, we set up the tree a day earlier too. And yes there were gifts and presents too,” smiles John.

So what would John want from Santa this year or will he be playing the sexy Santa himself? “I wouldn’t mind being surprised by Santa for sure. As for playing Santa, why not? Don’t know about the sexy bit though, just want to bask in the Christmas cheer!” smiles John.
