Is Bruce Springsteen coming to India?

Adding to the growing list of international artistes — like Metallica, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, Shakira, Tom Cruise — flocking India, is the buzz that Grammy award-winning American singer Bruce Springsteen is scheduled to give us a visit as well.

The singer, better known as ‘The Boss’ recently confirmed his upcoming world tour in 2012 with the E Street Band on his website. A statement on his website read, “A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012. That is absolutely correct. The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will be coming up shortly.” The European leg dates are already out on their website with the tour kicking off in England. The band will hit the road without its well-known saxophonist, Clarence Clemons, who died in June at age 69 after suffering a stroke.

Buzz is that the Born in the USA singer has apparently shown a keen interest in India being a part of the World tour. Says a source, “India has suddenly become a melting pot. With so many celebs turning up to woo the Indian audience, there is a high chance that we get to see Bruce perform here as well.”
